dank music for dark times
Elegy is our most recent EP. It was written as a reactive, cathartic response to political discord, social ennui, love, addiction and death. Most of the instrumentation was recorded live – a first for us – and captures the raw energy of our stage show. Written and produced by Joey Chaos, Andrew Walker and Megan Krenbrink with additional production by Chris Peterson (OHM, Frontline Assembly, Decree) and additional engineering by Elliot Fanglord (Freak Dream). Elegy was mastered by Greg Reely and is the follow up to our single Fear (2016) and our full length album Polarizer (2013).
We are three darkwave angels based out of grungy East Vancouver. The Ghosts are Megan Krenbrink on drums, Andrew Walker on guitar and Joey Chaos yelling into a mic. We melt digital technology with analog instrumentation to create distorted synthetic soundscapes, jagged guitar blasts and brutalist beats carrying shrouded words and dark dance vibes.
We’ve snuck onto stages big and small, from house parties to Verboden Festival, Partyfest and the 2018 Juno Week Celebrations. We play well with others and have shared the stage with Landscape Body Machine, Night Club, Freak Dream and Devours.
On November 8 we nuke the stage at Pat’s Pub with Borg Queen Music, Nick Grainwing and The Moor. It’s gonna be one loud night of dark mayhem presented by Coffin Party Productions, see you there friends ☠️♥️
