Immolation is the latest offering from Joey Chaos and The Ghosts. Informed by Vancouver’s darkwave, post-punk, industrial and grunge scenes, these four tracks were produced during the pandemic lockdown of 2020. Immolation is a reflexive take on a world in decline and explores themes of love, loss, sacrifice and self-care against the rising tide of fascism, inequity and ecological collapse.
Immolation was written, recorded and produced by Andrew Walker, Megan Krenbrink and Joey Chaos. It was released on February 12, 2021 and follows the release of the lead single Stinky Dog and its accompanying lyric video. It was mastered by Greg Reely and is the follow up to Elegy (2019) and the single Fear (2016). It is available on Bandcamp and all major streaming platforms.
We’ve traded in our goth capes for Oakleys and leaned hard into dance vibes for our first remix drop of 2021. The GHOSTLORD remix of Lil’ Bears is a riff on progressive house tinged EDM featuring Megan Krenbrink on shared lead vocals. The Dance Mic ’95 Remix of Immolate is straight up 90s drawing on influences including Robert Miles, Faithless and Alice Deejay.
We love techno. Enjoy.
We’ve released our latest single Stinky Dog on January 15, 2021. Stinky Dog is a disorienting and reflexive take on the rise of fascism in the face of our waning Anthropocene. Informed by the words of Audre Lorde, the song sets its sights on the complacency of weaponized idiocy. Informed by grunge as much as industrial rock, Stinky Dog carries with it the intensity of the band’s live show.
Immolation is now. Are you ready to B U R N ?
